Newsletter #26: The EDUPARTY
October 5, 2024
Exciting news!! We are throwing a birthday party!
This November, EDUPAVI is turning 5 - and what better way to celebrate than to throw a full-on birthday extravaganza?
This all-ages event on Saturday, November 16th will feature the return of our much-loved silent auction, a raffle draw, games, food vendors, limited edition merch, a photobooth, opportunities to connect with/learn about the students you are supporting, and of course: a PIÑATA!
As well as a fun way to give back, this event is a perfect opportunity for you to introduce your heart for this story to others. Invite your family, your friends, your coworkers and neighbours!
All proceeds from this event go directly towards our Education Support Package project.
RSVP to the party to earn a free raffle ticket! (+1 free ticket per person who you invite!)
* If you are able to help us out by donating an item to the silent auction or volunteering at the event, please reach out to jackie@edupavi.ca. We would be ever so grateful!

Updates from Guatemala
We are so proud of our students, who just officially finished their school year this week! The Guatemalan school year runs from January to October, and this year we had 120 students from Kindergarten through Grade 8 on full or partial scholarship, thanks to your partnership.
We are grateful for our tireless teachers, who spent the last year being everything and more - intentional educators, joy-inspirers, and a loving hug for students who don't have it at home. Please pray for energy as they enter a time of year-end grade reporting and wrap up, as well as planning for our 3-week-long day camp that is happening in November!
As we look to the end of this year and the beginning of next, we are acknowledging a season of higher need than usual. Not only are we are currently behind schedule on our 2024 fundraising goal, but this coming year will see an increase of student capacity so that our current 8th grade students can complete 9th (their final year of middle school) with us, bringing our total 2025 Education Support Package goal to 150 children. Without this increase in funding, our students will face a high likelihood of dropping out of school and we will not have the means to hire the legal amount of staff required.
If you can, please consider joining in our work as a monthly donor (or with a one-time gift) so that no student is left behind. While the image below gives you an idea of how far your money goes, the amount is completely up to you! Every partnership is deeply meaningful to us and creates waves of impact beyond what we can imagine. As a crucial part of this story of restoration, monthly donors receive stories and updates from the families and children they are supporting.
Thank you for your support! We can't wait to see you at the party.
Until then,
Team EDUPAVI Canada
